  1. I left a few comments on the previous post, but decided to put a new post up to celebrate our military.

  2. Good morning all!
Jeanette, thanks for the new post. I totally agree with you. I never thought we would find him and kill him but he would die somewhere and we would never know.
    Justice has been carried out.
Hope everyone had a good weekend, and is having a good Monday morning.

  3. Great to have a new post to celebrate our military troops. I am so thankful that Bin Laden is gone, but I fear for our safety by the remaining terrorists. They got the #3 man some time ago, but the #2 man is still out there somewhere, and we know that they will not let this go very easily. I pray I am wrong, I guess only time will tell.

Now that I am done being a negative Nelly, I want to say that I am making great progress with the new store. Got the Point of Sale terminals on Friday, and the new counters installed today. I think I am getting close.....at least I hope I am.

Hugs to all, I miss talking daily, but sometimes I am just to pooped to do much but read.

  4. Ok, where did everyone go. Although I am usually to tired to post, I do read, and I am missing everyone. DIL made dinner tonight so I had time to mow the lawn at my house...hooray! Tomorrow the sorting of inventory starts. It will be nice to move all those plastic bins and boxes of clothes out of my dining room so I can use it again.

Hope you are all well and happy. I am loving the spring weather we are having this week.

  5. Hi Keli
Glad things are going well on your new job front.
It is supposed to be 95 here today..So much for spring..I really hate the valley.
Work is busy and that is about all I have been up to.
Hope everyone is having a good week as well.

  6. Hello ladies! I too am glad that Bin Laden is gone...I worry about what he has been able to plan for in the last 9+ years...and worry about people travelling abroad...not to mention any terrorists lying in wait in our country. I know I can't live my life in fear, but it does raise the anxiety a bit knowing what he was able to accomplish almost 10 years ago.

Keli- Good luck getting everything ready...I am looking forward to seeing and hearing how it all turns out! :)

Suz- I know that heat is tough...but we would gladly take some of it off your hands;)

I finally got the girls and myself on the mend and off anti-biotics after this upper respiratory infection went through the house...Yesterday one day after stopping her med, Chloe broke out in massive hives...turns out she is allergic to the amoxicillin that she has taken at least 5 times in the past without issue...she is a hot mess. I was up and down with her all night, giving her benedryl, putting lotion on her hives and snuggling her to try to keep her from itching herself raw. Mom's just don't get a break...do we?
Hope everyone has a good day!
    Hugs!

  7. Pretty quiet here..
Want to wish all you lovely, talented, awesome women a Happy Mother's Day! I hope you are all showered with the love and honor you deserve on mother's day. Everyday really, because you all know, you are the glue, the thread that makes it all work for your families.
    So enjoy the day!!

  8. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day with their children, mothers and families. I took most of the day off from working in the shop to just relax with my family. It was a great day.

  9. It's really slow around here these days. I'm sorry girls, I just go through phases where even though I'm online, I just can't bring myself to socialize. When I'm so stressed out and dealing with BS in real life, it's hard to post about the regular every day stuff. That's why I quit blogging, my heart just wasn't in it.

There is really no excuse for not putting up fresh posts. I think if there were new posts on a regular basis, yall would be more apt to post and chat.

So... if any of you would like to take on a more active role here, and be in charge of putting up new posts, shoot me an email. Shana and I will remain admins, but it's very easy to add on another one. If anyone volunteers, and the rest of you are okay with that person being an admin, I'll add permissions for that person.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I've tried to comment 3 times now... I'm going to try once more.

Is there anyone that would like to be added on as Admin here? Shana and I have slacked off in a major way because of real life crap. But that doesn't mean yall don't deserve new posts on a regular basis. So if someone wants to volunteer, and everyone else is okay with that person doing it, I'll add permissions.

  11. Happy Sunday Ladies! I am about 3-4 days (I hope) away from opening my new store. It has been a long hard task, but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. We are having lots of rain and thunderstorms, so that makes things slightly more difficult (like doing the outside work that needs to be done). I hope you are all well and happy.

Jeanette, I saw the post about adding an admin. I hope someone takes you up on the offer. I am so busy that I would never remember to put up a new post. lol!

  12. Hey Girls! Hope all is well. Isabelle's birthday was this weekend as was my hubs grandparents 60th anniversary party. I am pooped out!

Good Luck Keli! U gioe akk gies well with your grand opening. A friend just opened a kid's resale shop in my town...I went today and LOVE it!! She is planning all kinds of fun events:)

Jeanette, I am a blogger idiot:) I would have no clue how to post...but hope someone who does takes you up on the offer...many hugs to you and Shana and hope life deals you some joy and peace...XOXO

  13. Ummmm...don't know why the beginning of Keli's message is in heiroglyphics?? It should read I hope all goes well with your grand opening...weird!

    ReplyDelete
  14. SS, I see it as it should be! No heiroglyphics on my end!

Blogger is super easy. I could easily show you how to put a post up if you are interested!

Keli, send us some pics from the grand opening and I'll post them so we can all see. Or if you blog about it, throw a link on here. Are you still doing a website or did I imagine that?

    SC, where you be woman?

  15. Good Evening ladies, I am taking a break from entering all my start up costs in Quickbooks. My eyeballs are so tired. I am in the final stages of getting things ready for opening. I am still entering merchandise into the point of sale system. The shop is looking so cute. I will post pics on my blog (and include a link here) very soon.

Hope you are all doing well. I am so looking forward to more blogging and less work on the shop. Talk to you all soon.

  16. Hmm, my comment from the other day is back. Now I look redundant. ::Shrugs::

    So... any takers?

    ReplyDelete
  17. You're not redundant Jeanette. I don't think I would be any better at remembering or thinking to change the bloggy posts than you and Shana are. It is all good...seems to always get really slow around these parts in the summer.

About the heiroglyphics, I was referring to my message to Keli in my post...please tell me you see that or I am going to have my eyes checked...have a drink or hell, maybe both!

Keli-Looking forward to your link and seeing photo's, wishing you luck on the grand opening.

SC---come out, come out wherever you are!!!

  18. Better call an make an appointment then, Soshayna. Walmart has good prices.

  19. Good evening ladies. I just posted on my blog to let everyone know I will opening the new store on Tuesday, May 24th. Will take pics on Monday when everything is done (I hope!). Hope you are all having a great week-end. The heat and humidity has started here, and I am not enjoying it! lol.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Seriously? Oh Jeanette...I am screwed!

Yay! Keli- a labor of love...can't wait to see the pic's!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Picture of the new store are up on my blog and on my Facebook Fan page (Gramma K's Attic, LLC). Come take a look.

Hope you are all doing well. We are having record heat and humidity, but have managed to not have any tornadoes this week. I cannot believe what the center of the country is going through.

On another subject, did you know that one of our local boys is a finalist on American Idol. I do not watch the show, nor do I vote, but I am hoping Scotty wins the title. He is just such a nice kid.

Well, I am off to start my day. Talk to you all soon.

  22. Hi Ladies,
Hope everyone is doing ok especially in light of all the weather issues across the country.
Keli, hope your store opening is going well. looks super cute!
SS, hope you and your girls are good.
SC, where ya at woman? Hugs, hope all is well in your part of the world.
Jeanette, I guess you got your answer. I personally don't want to take over because your and Shana were/are the heart of this place. Shana has not been here in such a long time but I think we all hold out hope she will at least check in again some day.
You are very busy too with LOTS on your plate I am sure.
It is both your place here, and maybe we don't get frequent updates,That is the way it is.But if you both are done with it, then you are done with it. That is just my feeling.
Hope everyone enjoys a safe long weekend
    ♥ Suz

  23. Thought I would drop by and let everyone know that the first four days at my store were very good. Word is starting to get around that I am there, and business picked up each day.

I hope everyone has plans for this long week-end and that you stay safe and cool (it has been in the 90s here, so I am hoping for cooler weather).

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ok, where is everyone? I have been working my *ss off at the new store and when I finally get a minute to check in....well I find out I was the last person to check in on 5/27. It is hotter than heck here (100 today) and I feel like crap. Please send some cooler weather, or at least send me ICE! Hope you are all doing well. If you have not done so already check out my business on Facebook. Just search for Gramma K's Attic, LLC. You can 'like' me if you want. I have some new pics of recently received merchandise, and comments for your entertainment. LOL!

  25. Hi Keli,
Glad the store is doing so well! That is awesome:)
I guess everyone is busy with the end of school. I am heading out for a long weekend out of town with the hubs. I am looking forward to it even though it is supposed to rain.
Have a good weekend Keli! Hope everyone else has a nice weekend too.

  26. Hey ladies I wanted to let you know that I got an email from Keri (Stripey). She wanted to let you know that due to ongoing computer problems she is unable to comment here. For some reason it thinks she is anonymous. Darn computer!! She will be back when it is resolved.

As for me, I am still plugging away at the new store. Each day I freak out about whether I can make this all work, but in the end I am confident that I can do it! My local newspaper is going to put the business in the 'New Business' section of the paper on Thursday. I will be glad to have the exposure. I am also going to run an ad in the paper for a few weeks, just to get the word out that my business is up and running. I have customers every day, but my sales need to improve over the next few months.

Well, it is Sunday night and I need to get a few things done around my house. Love and hugs to all of you. Update when you can....I miss you.

  27. Just got another email letting me know that Soshayna is also experiencing problems with comments. Anyone else? I wondered why I was here talking to myself most of the time, but then Suz commented, so I thought everyone was just busy, but know I know there is an actual problem with blogger and comments for some of you. Keep trying, I miss all of you.

    Hugs.....

  28. HI Keli, I am still checking in here. The hubs and I were out of town at the beach for 5 days. It was heavenly. It rained two of the days, but I did not mind, we needed the break and down time. Sorry for all the hot miserable weather for some of you ladies. Now you know why I bitch and moan about the heat. It sucks lol! We have been very mild up until now. The temps this week will be high 80's low 90's and I am ok with that.
Having a yard sale on Saturday, can't wait to get rid of some accumulated stuff that I am tired of looking at!
SC, hope you get back around here soon, don't know why blogger is being such a bitch. I want to know about your new baby!! Me thinks you got a new pet :)
SS same to you, kick that blogger bitch and get back here:)
Keli hope things continue to do well for your store, I wish you were closer, I would so visit your place!
Jeanette and Shana, thinking of you as always hoping you are both well and the families are doing well too.
    Hugs ♥ Suz

  30. Hey Ladies, I just wanted to check in and say hello. Nice to see that Lindsay was here (thanks for commenting on my facebook page).

SC, how is that baby doing? I hope getting stronger by the day. Sweet thing!

We are having thunderstorms again, so I am going to get off the computer. Love and hugs to you all.

  31. Hey there, where is everyone. I assume you are all enjoying the summer with your families, good for you. Things are going well here, and I am working hard each day, but loving it.

Check in when you can, would love to hear how things are going for everyone.

  32. Hey all!

SC I lurve your new baby. I think I would like one too. LOL.

  33. It has been over a month since anyone has been here. If any of you are still checking in, please keep good thoughts for my 92 year old father who has fallen in a comatose state and probably will not recover. I so hope that the end of his life is peaceful and pain free. I have not seen him in over 20 years (my mother will not allow me to have contact with any of my family....long story, but you never get over missing your father). Miss you guys.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Keli, Hugs Friend...Will be praying and sending good thoughts to you and your dad.. Ah..family dynamics, they are so hard sometimes...
    take care Keli..♥

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks Suz, it means a lot that you responded. I got word today that he did wake up, but due to his mental state he is quite agitated and has some sort of intestinal infection. After doing some investigating I found out that he has been in an assisted living situation for a few months and late last week he took a bad fall which went unreported and caused the state he was in for 3 days. It also seems that since they did not report the fall to anyone, they also did not feed him during the time he was semi comatose. I am so freaking mad I could spit, but since I live 3,000 miles away there is not much I can do. I did find out that the assisted living center has been reported and the VA is working to close them down. The police have taken photos of all his injuries. Maybe some good will come out of a very bad situation. I just want him to be pain free and live whatever time he has left with some dignity. Thanks again for caring. I miss my 'fellowship' friends. Hugs to you and I hope you are enjoying your summer.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Keli, This is terrible! I am so sorry. I can't imagine to have a loved one treated so bad, and be in no position to help or be there. I am sorry your family dynamics don't allow you to be a bigger part or do more even from 3,000 miles away. I am glad you were able to get the information you did. Will be praying your dad has peace and comfort in the days ahead. ♥
Miss you too, and the other gals. Just seems know one has the desire to post here and Keri and SS said they can't post period. Kinda sad. I think you have my email though, maybe we can stay in touch that way :)
    Hugs Keli!!

  37. Suz, yes I have your email address and I will email you soon. Better news today about my dad. He is fully awake, still not happy that he cannot go home, but he did recognize my mother and my sister, so that is wonderful news. The VA is going to move him home as soon as he is stable. They are providing a hospital bed so it will be easier for him to rest comfortably. I am so relieved that he is being properly cared for now. I wish I lived closer, I would just show up. Who knows, I might anyway. LOL. Talk to you soon.
