  2. Jeanette, I know it's hard at but just know that g'pa is watching you and the girls and he's proud of you! You got me all teary now.

SC will be proud of me because I am going to refinish my parson's bench. While I'm not askeered of painting it, I am askeered of the spindles on the back.

Jeanette, my CL stuff looks a Brady Bunch garage sale. lol

  3. Jeanette, so glad you popped in...I have been wondering about you and Shana and hoping all is well. I know the holiday's are especially rough, glad you have good friends and have found a reason to look forward to Easter. I am sure the kiddo's will have a blast. Many hugs to you and yours for Easter!

Suz-Glad to *see* you, and hope you take a break from all that work to enjoy the holiday weekend. Here's to hoping that everyone, especially those in Keli's neck of the woods get some beautiful weather.

Sandy...good for you. My "expertise" in home improvement is limited...I get ideas, but am a bit of a scaredy cat to screw stuff up...sigh!

Stripey- I am almost ready to send out the search party...still waiting to see your latest projects!

  4. Happy Wednesday!
Jeanette ((hugs)) I agree wholeheartedly with what Sandy said, your gpa is watching over you and your girls. I hope it is a great day ♥
Sandy!! You are awesome, don't you be skeerd by those spindles, maybe SC will pop in with some pointers.
SC...we are about to send a search party. Put the Svedka flag up so we can find you :)
SS, have a fun Easter with your girls.
Keli, Hope cleanup and what not is going ok for you.

  5. So sorry everyone... been swamp city with two special order dressers and spring cleanup around the farm...

got super cutie chicky babes that i'm raising. So cute... i did name some of them, which makes me scared... since i do border a state forest and there's lots of things that go bump and grrr in the night.

I gotta catch up on my reading... but glad to *see* sandy up there... hiya hiya.

am i the only person who's scalp itches like a 2 dollar hooker after a "winner" trip? hate when i switch shampoos.

alright... back to planning Easter bunny menu... and no... rabbit is not on it.

  6. Hi!

I wanna hear SC's Easter menu. She never disappoints :) And the dresser you just put up on your blog? To die for!

    How are ya'll?

J - I'm sorry things are rough about your gpa. I've been there. Eventually it hurts less, though 2 years later and I can still cry just from looking at a photo ((()))

Things are okay at the Casa de Falker. Busy, and thank God school is almost out and I'll be done with my PTA sentence. There's a wild hair I'm sorry I ever followed!

Lindsay...I sure hope when you are done doing the time, that we see your happy face a little more. Are you planning any camping trips for the summer yet?

Suz~ I sure hope you get some time off for the holiday...all work and no play...

Stripey...you always come out of the woodwork just before we call in the National Guard:) Hope you have fun with you babies for Easter...looking forward to salivating over your Easter menu...BTW, AWESOME dresser!!

    Hiya AP, Welcome back!

  9. SC, any suggestions on how to paint the spindle-ly things on the back of the bench. These puppies are pencil thin.

Nice to *see you here Lisa!

Linds! glad your prison sentence, oh I mean PTA is almost done! Glad you and your gang are doing well.

SC, I agree, your dresser is awesome, you got quite the talent young lady!
SS have fun with your girlies this weekend.
Sandy, I wish I had some advice for you. Painting..not my thing. Hope you get it figured out.
    Happy Easter all

  11. Hippy hoppy Easter's on it's way!
Sandy... I detest painting spindles... it's one of my worst least fave things... but i might try a foam brush or spray paint... they've got new fab colors out. maybe you could find a very similiar color in spray and it would add interest to the spindles to be a shade off from the seat of the bench... Either way, make sure there's svedka on hand.

Believe or not kids i have a hum ho menu for my Easter dinner this year... We are having my friends and neighbors and their mom who just lost her husband in January.

    so it's
    Stuffed crown roast of pork
    Rice Pilaf
    Mashed taters with herb cheese
    Roasted asparagus
    Glazed brown sugar carrots
    chocolate almond torte
    Lime tart with coconut crust

and a massive Easter egg hunt in the side pasture... complete with free ticks for everyone. lol.
    happy hoppiy to all!

  12. SC, why did I just *know you were going to say that. I haven't started yet. Too cold to do anything outside with paint. I just don't have the room inside to do it either.

The previous owner used decorative tacks to tack down a thin cushion on the top. I've got a couple of choices here of leaving the holds and covering up with a new tie on cushion or filling them with wood filler and swearing like a sailor with all the sanding.

  13. SC, you call that a ho hum meal? Dang, making my stomach growl just reading it. We are not even doing a ham this year for the first time evah! I am hopping a plane to New England for Easter!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sandy- Ugh! Does not sound like fun to me...Good Luck, hope it turns out fab!

SC- Ho hum, my ass, save me a seat at the table...I am on my way;) Enjoy that tasty meal!

  15. SS, Unless I can find some really nice spray paint in the color I'm looking for...foam brush, Svedka and a lot of cussing is in my future.

  16. Thanks girls. I knew y'all would understand :)

Lisa, I miss "hanging" with you, so stalk away! When you're done though, be sure to blog again! Your cooking posts are my fave. I'm usually totally grossed out by what you cook (okra, pigs feet) but I love the commentary!

I'm glad so many are checking in here, it's a sure sign that Spring is here and the Winter Blues are leaving everyone!

  18. Easter report...
angry bil... wore sunglasses at table through whole meal... yes... he's an ass.
Pork roast. good, but not my fave. would MUCH rather done a fresh ham that ends up tasting like the most tendar pork evah.
kids... wholy smohly.. had good time. chocolate and easter grass to pick up for weeks.
our newly widowed guest... had a fab time. talked about her hubs and laughed all at the same time.. a "winner' if you ask me.

and as for the desserts... damn sneaking some at midnight... furgin good choclate torte/

    hugs to all the bunnies.

  19. SC, glad everything went well. Sorry the BIL is an ass but glad you did not let him spoil the fun for the kidletts. Glad your guest had a good time too. You rock girl!♥
Jeanette, thinking of you today hope it is a fabulous day with lots of smiles from your two peanuts.

  20. Happy Easter ladies. I took most of today off from working on the new store. Had a great ham dinner at my son's house. Lots of yummy desserts too. I am so darn tired that I am headed to take a nap. Will check in again soon.

  21. I hope everyone had a great Easter. Dinner here was great, and my girls are happy. It was rough, but I survived and I'm just hoping that I wake up feeling like myself again tomorrow.

    G'night:)

  22. Jeanette, I am glad you made it through the day. I hope today is a great day and you did wake up feeling good with a smile on your face :D
Keli, sounds like a great day with your son and a good meal. I love desserts, I did manage to avoid them yesterday though. Trying to get my weight down :)
    Happy Monday ladies!

  23. Happy Belated Easter ladies! Sending hugs to all of you who persevered through the holiday despite sadness and asshats! Wishing beautiful weather, love and joy to all of you!

I got to call the on call doc. for Isabelle...she has croup, again:( Fortunately the doctor, who has never met Isabelle or I took pity and called in a script for me helping me to avoid an expensive ER visit over Easter. I got to be the lucky one to wake up with the illness today and of course I have volunteered to make sangria for a March of Dimes fundraiser tonight. I want to crawl into bed and drink a hot toddy:)

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday!!

  24. Jeanette, if you check in, please let us know if Shana is okay. The state of Alabama has been devastated by bad weather that is now heading my way. This is not a fun spring. I am worried about Shana as I do not know what part of Alabama she lives in, and the death toll is very high there.

I hope everyone else is safe and enjoying some spring weather. The storm should hit here in about 2 hours, so keep good thoughts for those of us in the path of this darn storm.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I agree with Keli...and have also been worried about Shana and all of our southern friends. Just awful what the southern states have had to endure in the last few weeks. Stay safe friends!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Morning Ladies, Keli and SS I am with you. Jeanette or Shana give us a shout, let us know everything and everyone is ok.
Keli be safe friend!! Will be praying this misses you.
SS hope you are feeling better.

  27. I have been trying to reach her since I read about the storms this morning. Nothing yet, but I promise I'll post as soon as I hear from her.

She did update Facebook 11 hours ago. I'm hoping she is sleeping. Rick is the Fire Marshall so it's possible she was up all night.

  28. I just read my comment and it sounds a little negative. I wanted to add, I'm sure she is fine. I'm not 100% sure, but I think her area got hammered with a lot of rain and wind, but I haven't read any reports of a tornado hitting her town.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks Jeanette, I know you will do your best to let us know.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thanks Jeanette!! I didn't read it as negative at all:) Hope all the peeps are healthy and safe today! Hugs ladies!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Jeanette, I did not take it as negative either:)You just have not reached her today. And I don't know what town she lives in so I am glad to know that a tornado did not hit her town.

  32. Good morning ladies...just checking into to see if anyone had heard from Shana but I guess not yet. I hope you are all well and had a lovely Easter !

  33. poking my head in from the rain... any updates on all our southern friends?
Shana dear, you are in my thoughts my love.
Keli, hope you are safe too my friend... and everyone else.
Lot's of flooding in my area, but we live on a mtn so it all runs downhill...
Spring cold has wreaked me so i am off to suck svedka from an iv and wait for the wedding. (yes, i love a fairytale...)

    Be well my friends.

  34. Shana and family are ok!

The cell towers are down, and she said the majority of the state is without power (I read over 1 million people without). Her power has been out for over 24 hours.

I'm not even really sure how she was able to text me, but I don't care, I'm just glad she did.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Jeanette, that is great news! Thanks for finding out. The devastation is unreal.. I cannot wrap my mind around it. Will be praying they get power restored soon.
Michelle, nice to see* you! Hope you are doing well.
SC, sorry about the cold. I have been having major allergies now that all the crap is in bloom.

    ReplyDelete
  36. oh so glad to hear Shana is ok... like Suz said it's just unreal... I hope help comes soon for all.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Good news about Shana! Thanks for keeping us in the loop, Jeanette. Gotta love how all the peeps look out for each other...you gals are the best!!

Feel better stripes...I am right there with ya:( Sucky being sick, but at least we can stay home, be lazy and watch the "wedding of the century".

    Thanks Suz!! Hugs!

Hiya Michelle...sorry I have failed to comment on your blog lately...I have read:)

  38. SS... i'm such a geek... i'm actually pretty damn excited about the wedding tomorrow. I mean how often do you actually see a princess being made?? pretty damn cool if ya ask me. ((psst... i secretly hope i can't sleep tonight and am up at 4am when it starts... but don't tell my brain that))

    ReplyDelete
  39. SC- When Princess Diana got married, my sister and I got up at 4 am to watch the wedding...and it was summer vacation, and I was like 12...a kid who could sleep till noon in those days. I hear ya sister, I will be thinking of you when I shag my stuffy nosed self out of bed tomorrow bright and early:)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Jeanette, thank you so much for the update on Shana and family. I am so glad they are safe. We escaped any really bad stuff, just high winds and rain. I think it is over for this round and we will have 3 days of lower temps and sunshine, which suits me just fine.

SC, enjoy the wedding, I am far to tired to get up and watch it. The new store is coming together, slowly, but I am making progress.

Well, I better get something to eat and do the darn laundry that is stacking up..

  42. 9 years, 7 months and 20 days. All the 9/11 victims and their families have waited that long for this day. I'm crying. I honestly didn't think he would ever be found by us, I thought he would die on his own and be found in a cave somewhere. I have never been so happy to be wrong.
